Quantitative simulation of groundwater source of Qale-Tol plainin different scenarios for agricultural uses by PMWIN Model with emphasis on modern methods of irrigation
In this study, Qale-Tol aquifer modeling is provided by the model and using of the monthly data including hydraulic heads, depletion volume of wells, precipitation values. This model was simulated and calibrated in duration to Oct. 2009 to Sep. 2010. This time divided to 12 stress period and 6 last period considerd (Oct. 2010 until Mar. 2010) for verification. Groundwater balance of Qale-Tol aquifer was done by model. The results show that the changes in Qale-tol aquifer storage volume were negative. Finally different agriculture scenarios for the plain were taken into account and response of the aquifer against them was predicted. After studying agricultural scenarios were identified. 2000 hec of agriculture in the plain can be irrigated by use of water resources. Applying this scenario, the water table in the central and southwestern parts of the aquifer is reduced about 2 meters irrigation efficiency was increased in the 400 acres of irrigated land that were irrigated with surface methods. The results of running model by this scenario, balance rate of aquifer increased 3.2 million cubic meters
Qale-Tol plain is one of the Khuzestan plains that is located in east of province and around the city of Qale-Tol with the development of the Northwest, Southeast. The Plain is located between 31 degrees and 36 minutes to 31 degrees 45 minutes in north latitude and 49 degrees 49 minutes and 49 degrees 56 minutes in east longitude. Its length is about 18 km and its width is between 1/5 to 7/5 km. Izeh and Pion plains are in north of the plains and Baghmalek plain is located in south.
